About Our Food, Our Menu and It's Origins.

Legumes, pulses and rice are the staples in any South Indian diet, and the dishes are given their flavor from fresh herbs, spices and coconut. A mixture of mustard seeds, curry leaves and dried red chillis, which are heated in oil and added to the dish at the end, complete the South Indian culinary experience.

Spices are grown widely in Kerala, with Cochin being the home of the Indian Spices Board. Many familiar spices, such as pepper, ginger, vanilla, tumeric, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom grown abundantly in this area, and exported all over the world.

Kerala’s long coastline and strong fishing industry has contributed to many fish-based delicacies.

Thalis are a popular way in India to sample a wide variety of different South Indian preparations. Served on a large stainless steel plate, small servings of up to a dozen preparations are served and replenished until you can’t eat anymore! Most of our dishes may be a little hot for the Western palate, but just ask and we will tailor the heat to suit your tastes.

These are family recipes passed on through the generations, so we promise you authenticity. There is no MSG used in any of our dishes and all our curries are GLUTEN FREE.
